After a long and glorious, 23-year-long NFL career, with seven Super Bowl Championships, Tom Brady officially hung up his cleats (probably for the last time) last month after spending three seasons with the Bucs. Along with his retirement, his fancied and interesting baseball career returned.

Notably, Brady, who was a great catcher, was drafted by the Montreal Expos in the 18th round of the 1995 MLB draft. The Montreal Expos have now relocated to Washington, as the Nationals, believed Brady to be an eventual All-Star, but young Tom had other plans. Brady decided to pursue his career in the NFL instead. And after long years since, he palpably made the right call. Now, with his second, and probably final NFL retirement, Brady’s MLB career rookie card has returned. And it will be featured on Bowman Baseball cards.

With Brady’s retirement, the Expos’ final chapter comes to an end

Interestingly, Brady’s retirement was the final nail in the coffin for the Montreal Expos. As the sole remaining active athlete to have been drafted by the franchise, Brady’s departure marked the end of a historic era. His farewell marked not only an impressive conclusion to his own athletic career but also to the life of the first professional baseball team to exist outside of the United States.
