It’s a new day in New York, winter meetings persist, and a new Aaron Judge free agency speculation emerges. However, this time, he’s not physically in New York.

Analogous to that, the offseason barely feels like a time off from baseball for all Aaron Judge fans as the undisclosed free market bidding war for the 2022 AL MVP continues to grow taller.

Notably, last evening, the star outfielder and most talked about free agent appeared in Tampa, right next to the Yankees’ Spring training facility. The 62 homer champion stood beside NFL legend and seven-time Super Bowl Champion Tom Brady in a brand new red jersey.

Aaron Judge comes forward to support Tom Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Judge traveled to Tampa to watch a Monday Night Football game when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers took on the New Orleans Saints at their home, Raymond James Stadium. The ex-Yankees outfielder attended the game with his wife, Samantha Bracksieck. At the game, the outfielder was catching up with quarterback Brady.

While appearing in Tampa, right next to the Yankees facility, was a ray of sunlight for New Yorkers, it’s still not enough to confidently say that the outfielder is coming back to Manhattan. In fact, if anything, coming to Tampa stimulated new free-agency rumors. Fans started to believe that the Tampa Bay Rays are the “mystery team,” in the Aaron Judge pursuit.

However, those are just blanket speculations that are born out of banter. This is how fans reacted to Aaron Judge turning up in Tampa:

In the Bucs vs Saints game, Tampa beat New Orleans 17-16, in a final-quarter rampage of 14 points.

What’s next for Judge?

According to recent rumors, Aaron Judge’s agency demands a nine-year contract for the Yankees outfielder. Being 30 and demanding a nine-year contract would explain that the outfielder will be playing until he’s 39. Moreover, his contract is already expected to grow north of $37 million a year – which would mean that the team would be signing a contract north of $350 million.

While a contract of such heavy monetary value could attack any team’s pocket, in this situation, a team would also be placing a massive bet on the player’s fitness.
