New York Mets Melt Fans by Uncovering an Adorable Memory of Patrick Mahomes Before Massive Super Bowl Showdown

Kansas City Chiefs star QB Patrick Mahomes, at only 27 years of age, is one of the most feared quarterbacks in the sport’s history. Adding to his numerous accolades, he recently won the MVP award for the second time in his six-year career in the National Football League. And now, he is gearing up for his third appearance in the Super Bowl, starting today at 6.30 pm EST. Notably, the Chiefs will go against the Philadelphia Eagles at the University of Phoenix Stadium. 

Joining the millions of people in wishing the star quarterback all the best is the MLB team, New York Mets. Mahomes must have had some fond memories with the Mets and their former stadium. Because that’s where he used to go and shag fly balls around. For those unversed, the NFL star is the son of former baseball player Pat Mahomes, who played in MLB for over a decade, primarily for the Mets. Thus, the Mets brought up an adorable way to wish the star quarterback luck for the final showdown.

The Metropolitans brought a rare picture from Mahomes Jr.’s childhood as they wished him all the best for Super Bowl LVII. Over the years, Mahomes Sr. has talked multiple times about how his son used to love coming to the Shea stadium and playing catch with him. He has also talked about how he knew his son, Mahomes Jr., was born to be an athlete, just not to play baseball.

In just a few hours, the event will take place, and wishes for the quarterback are pouring in from all over the country. And the MLB team, whose jersey the NFL star lovingly wore in his childhood, is undoubtedly one of them. The Mets posted a picture of Mahomes Jr. from his childhood days, wearing the Mets jersey and cap with a small baseball bat in his hand, ready to hit the ball out of the ballpark. 

From shagging fly balls on the diamond to making his way to the third Super Bowl of his career, Patrick Mahomes has come a long way. The road is even bigger ahead, but for now, the quarterback’s focus is to win Super Bowl LVII.
