The last few seasons have been difficult for the Oakland Athletics and the Kansas City Royals. Both AL teams couldn’t deliver up to the mark, languishing last in their divisions. Not only this, they have also battled the need for more support, with low average stadium attendance. It has brought feasibility issues and questions about whether these cities can back the MLB team. The A’s owner John Fisher did not think so and has planned a stadium and home change with a move to Las Vegas. In contrast, the Royals’ owners, including Patrick Mahomes, think otherwise and are coming up with a plan to back it up.

Stadiums play a role in attracting or catering to the needs of fans. Every team wants to do the best for their fans and in return, they want fans to back the team. But that has yet to be the case with the A’s and the Royals, both with low attendance. It brings doubts over the future and is one reason for A’s move to Vegas. The Royals, in contrast, have kept their faith in the city and the fans, unlike Fisher with their upcoming $2 billion Plan.

mlbonfox shared a post on Instagram related to the plan which It read, “The Royals released renderings for their proposed $2 billion ballpark district. The two leading locations for their new stadium are in downtown Kansas City and North Kansas City.”

Given that Royals have not played best in the last few seasons, the investment shows their trust in the city and the fans. It also counters the fears of billionaire John Fisher, who, even after immense wealth, has failed to recognize the fans’ demands and has gone against them with a base change.

Patrick Mahomes, with $40 Million worth, is backing the team that trails last in the AL Central and seemingly has won over the fans, who are delighted about the future new home.

Fans Show Faith Is Kansas City’s New Dream

Although there is sadness amongst the Royals fans as the team trails last for back-to-back seasons, it has not stopped them from backing the team for its future goals. They showed the same faith while reacting to the latest stadium renderings. Although few questioned the move, most were pleased to see the big plan.

In that direction, one fan wrote, “Ngl, that bottom one hits hard.”
