The Houston Astros’ infamous cheating scandal will probably never die down. It was an incident that shook not just MLB to its core, but the entire sports world. In addition to the league’s outrage, even personalities from basketball and football, aka the NBA and NFL, also had thoughts to share. Apparently, they remember as clearly as the rest of the country.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are without their star quarterback this year. Instead of Tom Brady, who retired for the last time after the 2022 season, the NFL team has Baker Mayfield this year. After facing accusations of sign stealing and cheating against the Minnesota Vikings, the QB retaliated with a clever but hilarious response.

It was a hard-earned victory for the Buccaneers, who won 20-17 against the Vikings yesterday. Apparently, it was all owing to Tampa Bay’s star quarterback, Baker Mayfield, aka Brady’s successor. According to FOX Sports, the NFL player had picked up on Minnesota’s signs and clued in his clubhouse, aiding in the team’s win almost when it seemed impossible.

When the media received wind of it, the incident was reminiscent of the Astros’ infamous activities in the 2017 MLB season. But when a reporter brought it up with Mayfield, he wasn’t too happy with the cheating accusations. On top of that, he also took a shot at the Astros, claiming he didn’t even like them.
“I’m a Rangers Fan, not an Astros fan. So we’re not going to condone that,” said Mayfield. In hindsight, it’s a hilarious comment in one respect, while Houston might find it offensive. The Bucs player openly trolled the team and their antics, which led to the firing of manager A.J. Linch and general manager Jeff Luhnow. Interestingly, the incident will now make it to the big screen.
