His longevity is so underrated it even makes the NFL icon Tom Brady look small. Yes! Many sports fans might not be aware of the fact that Pujols and Brady started their professional career almost at the same time. But why does Pujols not get the same amount of respect and recognition as Tom Brady for being consistent?
Albert Pujols: A modern-day great in MLB
Having played for the St. Louis Cardinals, LA Angels, and LA Dodgers, Albert Pujols is still going strong in the 22nd year of his baseball career. Although it is not fair to compare him with Tom Brady, he is in the same league as the seven-time Super Bowl champ.
And what is more remarkable is that the two are still at the peak of their respective games. But here is the irony. On one hand, the sporting world recognizes Brady as the GOAT in the NFL for his consistency, while on the other hand, Pujols does not get the same respect and recognition.
Although It is hard to believe, when the Cardinals legend hit his first big league home run, Brady did not even have a single NFL start to his name. Per ESPN, the Buccaneers quarterback had only six career passing yards, when Pujols, AKA The Machine, launched his first moonshot in MLB.

Considering their numbers, Pujols and Brady have been doing unreal things over the last two decades in their respective sports. An MLB Rookie of the Year, 3-time MVP, two World Series titles, a couple of Gold Gloves, an NLCS MVP, and whatnot, the Cardinals legend has dominated an era in Major League Baseball.
