Home/Olympics

The 2024 Paris Olympics has been underway since July 26, but Alex Rodriguez has just arrived at the Stade De France stadium. Last Saturday, it was A-Rod’s 49th birthday, and he celebrated it with his loved ones in different parts of Europe. Especially in Italy, where his daughters had a warm surprise for their loving dad. Both Natasha and Ella Rodriguez held the candle sticks and started to circle around the former World Series champion A-Rod, making his birthday memorable.

On this special occasion, his girlfriend Jacklyn Cordeiro was also spotted cheering with A-Rod. Rodriguez posted glimpses of his family enjoying in the European region. With his birthday being on July 27, Alex Rodriguez might have joined the 2024 Olympics a day later due to these celebrations. Other than traveling in Italy, the former MLB star also had some special family moments.

Spending quality time before finally arriving at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Rodriguez, along with his family, headed to France. On the special occasion, Alex Rodriguez shared a few snaps of him with the family in a speed boat. Other than celebrating his birthday in France, A-Rod also celebrated his brother Joe Dunand Sr’s 60th birthday. For the celebration, Dunand was accompanied by Joe’s mother, Lourdes Rodriguez, and his niece, along with the nephews.

Further, they had a massive birthday party bash at the grand French Riviera club along with having their food at the Medusa restaurant. Eventually, coming from his birthday party, Alex Rodriguez has finally headed for the 2024 Olympics. He is there to cheer for Anthony Edwards of the Minnesota Timberwolves, who will represent the USA men’s basketball team. Indeed, Edwards won’t be alone in the team as other NBA icons such as Lebron James, Kevin Durant, and Stephen Curry will be there in Team USA to play at the Olympics.

The former World Series champion holds a 36% stake along with Mark Lore in the Minnesota Wolves. Also, his banter with Anthony Edwards has been going on for a few years now, as both were seen together in plenty of NBA games. A prime example would be the recent semifinal between the Timberwolves and Nuggets. After the game, A-Rod candidly made a handshake with Edwards, and they were seen having a fun time together. Still, aside from MLB players like Alex Rodriguez visiting the Olympics to watch the NBA, the 2028 Olympics might introduce MLB Star players to take center stage.

MLB stars might take part in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics

MLB being one of the top sports in the USA, the 2028 Olympics might just give a green signal to major league baseball. According to baseball commissioner Rob Manfred, the possibility is high that the MLB stars can be seen representing Team USA in the upcoming 2028 Olympics. During a recent media session, Manfred and the union executive director Tony Clark spoke for 45 minutes regarding the future of MLB in the Olympics. Also, Casey Wasserman, the chairperson of the 2028 Olympics, spoke with the owners of the Olympics to allow the participation of MLB stars in the Olympics event.

Giving his thoughts after a conversation with Tony Clark, Manfred said, “He was very persuasive. We’re talking about what can be done? What exactly would it look like? So, I remain open-minded on the topic.” Indeed, in the 2024 Olympics, there are certain players who are eager to participate in the 2028 Olympics. Among the MLB names, Phillies star Bryce Harper has given his nod to play in the upcoming mega event.

Eventually, looking at the scenario, it’s not the first time when baseball will be introduced to the Olympics. From 1992 to 2008, baseball was a sport that was played in the Olympics. Later, it was again introduced in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, but in 2021 the idea was dropped. Reason? Only the players not on the 40-man roster were allowed to participate in the Olympics. However, seeing the current scenario, hopes are high for the arrival of MLB stars in the 2028 LA Olympics. And, if this happens, the Olympic world might witness the epitome of craze and passion MLB fans have for their beloved teams and players.
