As reported by The New York Times, after smashing his 59th home run against the Pirates, the MLB will use a special ball for Aaron Judge every time he comes to hit. The reason behind this is associated with MLB’s authentication program, which is a vast design fashioned to ensure the authenticity of historic memorabilia of the game.

Similarly, as said by Marly Rivera, “baseballs used for #AaronJudge at bats have a unique handwritten numerical and alphabetical code.”

He continues to talk about the subtle and secret elements present on the balls. He says, “The hologram is applied later on, once you authenticate it.”

In a two-tweet thread, Rivera moves on to upload a video of the umpires bringing a new ball on the field.

Eventually, the Pinstripes defeated the Blue Jays 5-2 and leveled the three-game series at 1-1.
