New York Yankees star Gleyber Torres helped the Yankees secure a win against the Toronto Blue Jays on Monday. The 25-year-old shortstop hit a 2-run home run and then a base hit to help the Yankees to win their 10th consecutive win. The Yankees won the game 3-2 against the Blue Jays at Rogers Centre, Toronto. With this win, the Yankees have a comfortable lead for the moment in the AL East Division.

New York Yankees shortstop Gleyber Torres became a guardian angel for the Yankees as they took their match-winning streak to 10 games. For the New York Yankees, Josh Donaldson, Tim Locastro, and Gleyber Torres became the game-changers. Meanwhile, for the Blue Jays, Bo Bichette, and Mark Chapman scored, but the effort was in vain as the Yankees dominated the game. Although there were many instances in the game, where the Toronto Blue Jays could have scored some useful runs for the team, it did not happen.

New York Yankees star Gleyber Torres to the rescue

In the 4th inning on Monday, Gleyber Torres faced Blue Jays pitcher Ross Stripling. He pitched a 93mph 4-seam fastball to Torres who hit him high in the deep right-center field and scored a home run for the Yankees. Torres scored a 2-run home run as Josh Donaldson scored as well.
As the Blue Jays scored 2 runs, the 2-2 score remained the same till the 9th inning, when Torres came to bat once again. This time, he faced Yimi Garcia. Garcia pitched an 83mph curveball to Torres, but Torres hit the ball into right field as a base hit. This hit helped Tim Locastro, who scored thus putting the Yankees in lead with 3-2.

After the game, reporters interviewed a delighted Gleyber Torres. “It’s special. Every time when I do my little things and help my team to win, that is great to me,” said Torres. “I just grab every opportunity I have and try to do the best I can for the team.”

Coach Aaron Boone proudly praised his team for their work. “This was a really good win against a really good team. In that spot right there, that’s when Gleyber is at his best,” Boone stated.

A 10-game winning streak for the Yankees, and they have every reason to be proud. Two games left in Toronto, and the Yankees will be ready to host the Texas Rangers at the Yankee Stadium in New York. Leading the AL East Division with 17 wins and six losses, the Yankees will push as much as they can to have a dominant and comfortable lead over the other clubs.
