Who would have thought Matt Carpenter—a 36-years-old rejected infielder—will be having his best-ever MLB season with the best team in MLB history. Ever since joining the Yankees, Carpenter has been the most consistent performer from the plate. Whenever the Pinstripes have needed him to perform, Carpenter has delivered for the team.

Currently, the Yankees are playing a three-game series against their arch-rival Boston Red Sox in the Bronx. After losing the first game in a close encounter, the Yankees had to win the second game at any cost to avoid the series loss. And guess what? Carpenter smacked two 3-run home runs from the plate to ensure the Yankees’ victory.

Matt Carpenter is in the same company as Babe Ruth and Joe DiMaggio

Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, and Joe DiMaggio are three of the best players in baseball history. They all played for the Yankees and dominated their respective era. Coming back to Matt Carpenter, in his first season for the Yankees, he has joined the elite company of Ruth, Gehrig, and DiMaggio.

 

The veteran infielder smashed seven runs in a single game for the second time in the current season. Before him, only Ruth, Gehrig, and DiMaggio had achieved this feat.

Not only Carpenter, but Aaron Judge also hammered two home runs against the Red Sox and helped the Yankees win the second game by 14-1 in the Bronx.

Now, with both teams winning one game each, the third game will be the decider for the series.

Aaron Judge hits 33rd home run

It was a home run party for the Yankees hitters on Friday. After suffering a loss in the first game, the Pinstripes made a statement comeback in the second game. Under the leadership of Aaron Judge, the Yankees have been phenomenal in the ongoing MLB season.

With 33 home runs from the plate, Judge is the frontrunner for the American League MVP. While the second half of the 2022 MLB season is yet to be played, Judge’s form will be crucial for the Yankees. Only time will tell how far the Yankees will go this season.
