Aaron Judge is a record-setting slugger and outfielder for the New York Yankees. He rose to stardom because of his prolific home run scoring ability. His seasonal home run tally is now editing the record books. Not to mention, Judge is a four-time MLB All-Star member.

The Yankees’ manager Aaron Boone, like everyone else, is wonder-struck by Judge’s form. Boone has always been high on praise for Judge. In fact, in a recent interview, Boone compared Judge to a retired Yankees legend. That honorable personality is none other than the talismanic Derek Jeter.

Aaron Judge and Derek Jeter: An indirect parallel

Aaron Judge as a player and person has got much in common with Derek Jeter. As a former Yankees player and the present manager, Aaron Boone has seen both players from a close range. So Boone is one of the best people out there to notice the similarities. Judge’s latest triumphant act has made Boone acknowledge that fact, though with indirect reference.

The Yankees opened a home series against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday night; they won a thriller coming from behind. Though the Pirates were leading 8-4 until the bottom of the 9th inning, Judge smashed his 60th seasonal home run followed by Giancarlo Stanton’s walk-off grand slam.

Consequently, the Yankees tilted the tide in their favor. The final outcome read as the Yankees beating the Pirates by a 9-8 margin. Judge’s calmness at bat and controlled emotions reminded Boone of Jeter. Judge is a genuine team man, as was Jeter.

Judge may celebrate personal milestones, but like Jeter, nothing matters more to him than team glory. Judge always keeps the public focused on sporting success, as did Jeter. A joyous Boone told reporters, “I keep saying over and over, Aaron Judge; everyone should just watch and take notice. I can say this because I’ve lived this and he’s shown this: He puts his focus on being a great teammate and winning. He knows everything else will take care of itself.”

The road ahead for Aaron Judge

Judge is now tied with Babe Ruth’s seasonal home run tally as of Tuesday. Another home run will tie him with Roger Maris’ American League seasonal home run record. The playoffs are yet to begin and the Yankees look good to make the cut. Therefore, Judge has the opportunity to break the overall seasonal homer record.
