The fiercest rivalry in MLB that has stood through the stand of time is between the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox. While playing for over 20 years of baseball for the New York Yankees, Derek Jeter has also shared his fair share of love from the rivals Red Sox fans.

Even though the Red Sox fans never liked Jeter playing for a rival team throughout his career, when Jeter played his last game, he got a standing ovation from the Red Sox fans in their own territory, Fenway Park. The fans knew how great of a player he was. Therefore, when his career was ending, they knew they had to appreciate him for being a wonderful baseball player.?

It was the rivalry between the Yankees and Red Sox that always kept the fans ignited.

Deep down, even the Red Sox fans knew the greatness of Derek Jeter!

Recently, the former Yankees captain appeared in a podcast, where he discussed how the Boston Red Sox fans made him feel special. Notably, as earlier mentioned, the former Yankees phenom played his last game in the rivals’ territory.

“One thing I’d give to the fans in Boston, they are as knowledgeable as any fans in the game,”?Derek Jeter said on the Red Sox fans.

Being a good rival, Jeter also appreciated the Red Sox fans for their generosity. He also acknowledged the Red Sox fans for their awareness of the game.

Later, Jeter also told the reason why he played his last game at Fenway. The former Yankee said that he did it only out of respect for the fans and the organization. But if it was any other team, he would have cut that out. And played his last game at Yankee Stadium only.

Jeter: A nightmare for the Red Sox
