Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez is a story of grand success in the world of baseball. He received critical acclaim for his playing skills ever since he stepped onto the MLB stage. But joining the New York Yankees, in particular, was the defining moment of his career and life altogether. Recently, ‘A-Rod’ met two of his former Yankees team members who shared a glorious MLB season with him.?

‘A-Rod’ made his MLB debut with the Seattle Mariners and also played for the Texas Rangers before joining the Yankees. He had massive success playing for all three teams throughout his career. Notably, he went on to become a 14-time All-Star player. But most importantly, ‘A-Rod’ became a World Series champion in 2009 as a Yankee.?

Recently, ‘A-Rod’ posed for a photograph with two former Yankees members who were part of the 2009 champion franchise. They are Kevin Long and Rob Thomson. Both Long and Thomson are part of the Philadelphia Phillies management staff now. While Long is the hitting coach, Thomson is the present manager of the Phillies.?

When Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez won the World Series with the Yankees, Kevin Long and Rob Thomson were his franchise allies. Long was the hitting coach for the Yankees from 2007 to 2014. Whereas, Thomson was the head coach of the Yankees from 2008 to 2017. Interestingly, back in 2009, the Yankees won the World Series by defeating the Phillies on a 4-2 series margin.?

The Yankees haven’t won any World Series championships after 2009. ‘A-Rod’ retired as a baseball player in 2016. Long went on to become the hitting coach of the New York Mets, Washington Nationals, and the Phillies, respectively. Under Long’s coaching tenure, the Nationals won the World Series in 2019. While Thomson became the Phillies’ head coach in 2018 and eventually got promoted to managerial duties this year.?

‘A-Rod’ recently posted a photograph of himself with Long and Thomson on his Instagram account quoting, “I can’t believe it’s been 13 years since we brought the title home but in Blue pinstripes.” ?
