One man can be famous in more than one industry. One example of such people is none other than the baseball icon, Alex Rodriguez. This name got fame first in the sports industry, specifically in baseball. Then, his fame rose in the entertainment industry. Mostly because of the women, the athlete dated.

During the time when he already had fame as a baseball player and was gaining more in the entertainment industry, he rose as a businessman/investor in the business world.

But even in the business world, sometimes people make mistakes. After all, a human is here in the world to make mistakes and learn from them. And Alex, in his career, has made quite a few. There was one that he made while endorsing a product and, at the same time, raised a conflict because of it.

How did Alex Rodriguez impose a conflict?

Being a famous baseball player sometimes comes with the offer of acting in multiple endorsements. Once Alex Rodriguez became the spokesperson for the coconut water company, Vita Coco.

Being a spokesperson of a company is not wrong. But being an investor of its rival company can cause plausible differences in opinions.

At the time, when A-Rod became the spokesperson for Vita Coco, he was also an investor in Vita Coco’s biggest rival, Zico coconut water.

Alex Rodriguez got the biggest contract in Major League Baseball’s history and still is one of the highest-paid athletes. So it can be said that  the former baseball player might have forgotten about the investment he made. Or he just did not care much about the conflict of interest.

What other mistakes Rodriguez made?

Many of his mistakes are already known to the public. It is also the mistake that might have stopped him from getting inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame.

During his career in baseball, he got tested positive for taking performance-enhancing drugs twice. He never had to face the repercussions of testing positive for the first time. But the second had banned him from playing in 162 games.

There might be other mistakes as well, but this one is the biggest. A-Rod has since accepted his mistake and wants the young players to learn from him and be better.
