After months of waiting, the opening day of Major League Baseball finally saw the daylight and swiftly went away. And as expected, the New York Yankees showed tremendous play and clinched a win in their season opener against the San Francisco Giants by 5-0. Needless to say, the opening day, March 30, had kept every baseball fan on their edge. And that included the MLB legend Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez. Even though it’s been over six years since A-Rod retired from the game, his love for the game hasn’t gone yet.

Hence, the excitement of the opening day was also instilled in him, which then prompted him to want to make a comeback. But looking at the latest Yankees captain, Aaron Judge, this wish of the former Yankee quickly went away.

How did Alex Rodriguez’s wish to make a comeback got crushed?

Despite the controversies surrounding A-Rod during his career, he remains one of the best ever to play the game. Although it is unlikely to happen, if he does decide to make a comeback, he might fit in well with the team. But as he saw number 99, Aaron Judge, during batting practice, he thought he was good without making a comeback.

Ahead of the much anticipated Yankees v/s Giants game, the business mogul Alex Rodriguez posted a picture with the Yankees captain, Aaron Judge, with baseball bats in their hands. Besides the picture, A-Rod wrote, “Opening Day is here. Was gonna try to make a comeback but watched this guy take BP and packed it in. Let’s go! @yankees.”

It seems like A-Rod, the former world champ and a 14 times All-Star, could not resist the charm of BAJ. After all, All Rise welcomed the opening day with an outstanding home run, which was the start of many to come.

Could Alex Rodriguez play in the Yankees in 2023?

Undeniably, A-Rod is one of the best baseball players the fans ever saw. But it is also true that with the young talent coming in, it would be tough for him to make his stand on the diamond. 

Also, no matter the young talent coming in, the impact left by A-Rod on baseball will not be forgotten easily.
