The much-awaited long weekend is finally here. May is almost over and the last Monday of the month is only a couple of days away. This means it’s Memorial Day – how time flies! While it seems like 2023 just started, summer is almost here with its pleasant days, peppered in with the scorching heat. But first, it’s time to honor the military personnel who died serving the country.

Whether one visits cemeteries and memorials to honor strangers or family members, placing flags on the graves or not, this weekend holds immense importance in American history. And among those celebrating the occasion is former New York Yankees player Alex Rodriguez.

A-Rod may have Dominican heritage but his roots are American. From Florida to New York, Rodriguez has grown up all around the east coast. The former Yankee’s social media often features him celebrating a number of holidays with his family or friends. This weekend is much the same.

Rodriguez posted a picture of himself on Instagram surrounded by greens and a small pool as he stands with his thumbs in his pockets. Dressed in black pants and a white shirt, rocking his classic Aviator sunglasses, he gives the camera a huge grin. The caption of the story simply reads, “Happy Memorial Day Weekend”.

The former shortstop often spends the day with his daughters and posts pictures on Instagram that show the three of them celebrating. In fact, this is the first Memorial Day post in the last few years since his infamous split from Jennifer Lopez.
