Aside from having natural talents, having superpowers is always a plus. After all, who does not want superpowers? Major League ball players sure do. One of those players would be the New York Yankees’ first baseman, Anthony Rizzo. While the slugger shows immense hitting power on the plate, he also knows how to capture his audience off the plate. Most recently, the 3x All-Star took part in a light-hearted playball question of the week.?

However, alongside him were many other players such as San Diego Padres’ shortstop Xander Bogaerts, Houston Astros’ Jeremy Pena, and more. One by one, all of them answered about the superpower they’d like to have. Coincidentally or not, one superpower took the lead among the athletes.

What superpower would Anthony Rizzo like to have?

For a baseman, completing the bases on time is one of the important parts of their job as a ball player. What if they could do so by flying and not running? Maybe for this, or some other reason, most of the athletes chose flying as their superpower.?

When the question came to Rizzo, without missing a beat, he said,?“If I could have one superpower, it would be to fly.”?Notably, others followed suit.

Followed by Rizzo, St Louis Cardinals outfielder Lars Nootbar, Xander Bogaerts, and Atlanta Braves pitcher Kyle Wright, all said the same thing. Others that would want to fly more than anything are Detroit Tigers’ outfielder Riley Greene, Baltimore Orioles’ centerfielder Cedric Mullins, and Cleveland Guardians center fielder Shane Bieber. Flying might have been the most common superpower that athletes want, but it is not the only thing they want.?

At what other superpowers do the athletes have their eyes on?

The flying saga ended with Oakland Athletics outfielder Seth Brown wanting?“time travel” as his superpower. Then came the 2022 World Champ, Jeremy Pena, wanting to “control time”?as his superpower.?

However, this was not the end because most different of all came in the end with Braves’ ace Spencer Strider. The Braves pitcher wants to have the abilities of one of the most famous superheroes, the iconic Spiderman.
