The New York Yankees’ off-season has been all about adding pitching after the Juan Soto trade. This focus is mainly on a top starter that can come and be a 2nd or 3rd option. Now, the Yankees may be nearing a conclusion to this search as they seemingly consider their final options.

Amidst a slow off-season, the pitching market has taken time to develop. Big names such as Jordan Montgomery and Blake Snell are still on the board, despite the need for pitchers. Now, the Yankees are closing in on signing a hurler.

Over the last few days, the New York Yankees have seemingly closed in on a pitcher. Amidst a generally slow market, the Bronx Bombers have bided their time and waited weeks to make a decision. Now, a deal may be in the works as links to Marcus Stroman grow. Blake Snell is also a viable option, with the Bombers interested in him as well.

Most recently, MLB insider Jon Morosi reported them as the favorites for Stroman. Snell seems to be the next option, with Dylan Cease also reported as a potential arm in recent weeks. But the Bombers need to add pitching to a rotation that saw Carlos Rodon and Nestor Cortes Jr. struggle heavily.

Snell and Stroman seem to be two of the finalists on the New York Yankees’ list at the moment. But the market may change, and other pitchers may become options once again. In the case of Jordan Montgomery, he seems to be looking for a Texas Rangers return, but media rights may pose a problem and keep the Bombers in the race.

Pitching depth is of great importance and a top priority for the Bronx-based team. The Juan Soto and Alex Verdugo trade drained them of pitching assets. It will be interesting to see how the market develops and who the Yankees finally sign.

Stroman is a strong possibility for the Yankees

Marcus Stroman joining the New York Yankees is a strong possibility, per Jon Morosi. While appearing on MLB Network, he revealed that there are strong links between the two parties and mutual interests. While on MLB Network, Morosi said, “Stroman to the Yankees is the most likely of the Yankees’ situations right now.” This would be a great deal, as Stroman has the personality to thrive in Yankee Stadium, being a New York native himself.
