Michael Jordan is known for his iconic years in the NBA and his status in basketball is no secret to anyone. Fans are also aware of his short stint in MLB when he shocked the world by drastically changing career paths. MJ eventually came back to his one and only love but he still maintains connections to baseball, mainly through pro baseballers. One of his best-recorded friendships is with the 15th Yankees captain Derek Jeter, and now MJ is also a pal of the 16th.

After a bit of a rough off-season, Aaron Judge is back with the Yankees with an eye-popping $360 million deal for nine years. A Jordan fan since childhood, Judge is embracing a new opportunity by joining a different kind of roster that has to do with the basketball star.

The Captain. As of 2023, the title isn’t synonymous with Jeter anymore but with Judge. With their unique connection to Michael Jordan, now the two have yet another thing in common – repping the Jordan brand. Notably, Judge has been previously seen at a GQ photoshoot wearing the Air Jordan 1 Retro High 85.

More recently, Judge showed up for spring training in his classic black hoodie and sweatshirt, plus back sunglasses. He completed the look with the Air Jordan 2 Low. So it hardly comes as a surprise that Judge would be joining some big names in baseball to officially represent Jumpman in 2023. Notably, the other names include Jeter, Mookie Betts, and Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

Being a sports personality, MJ has an innate knowledge of what feels comfortable while playing and what doesn’t. So it’s no surprise that athletes would choose to wear Air Jordans out of a love for the brand. Because sponsored or not, sometimes it’s hard to find exactly the right type of shoes for any occasion. But these former, as well as current players, have kept MJ’s name alive in baseball.

Manny Machado, CC Sabathia, and David Price have all been seen publically sporting Jordan kicks. Even Deion Sanders, former NFL as well as MLB player, who is especially known for his sense of fashion and style, is a big MJ fan.
