MLB has long expected Shohei Ohtani to shed his Halos red for new colors for quite a while now. He was one of the most sought-after international prospects when making his MLB debut in 2018. But he left everyone confounded with his decision to join the Los Angeles Angels in 2018, a historically subpar team. Now, history may repeat itself.
As the August 1 trade deadline looms, the question on everyone’s minds is – where will Sho-time land next? Will he opt to stay with his current team when he hits free agency, or will the Angels trade him? Of the many fanbases that want the Japanese player on their team, Bronx fans recently made a unique request.

The Yankees and the Angels finished their series opener, with the Halos winning 4-3. Once, fans had been eager to see the two AL MVP contenders compete against each other again. But with Aaron Judge out of the lineup for the foreseeable future, Shohei Ohtani dominated the game. Once again, seeing proof of his prowess, Yankee fans came prepared.
Angel Stadium in Anaheim witnessed a bizarre sight – a blown-up picture of the two-way player’s face in a baseball cap. What was intriguing, though, was the fact that it wasn’t his usual red, but a dark cap with the Yankees symbol on it.

The Bronx Bombers have been one of the most underperforming teams this year, while Ohtani has personally been having an exceptional season. His stats and league-leading home runs are proof of this fact, and the Yankees could use some of that offense.
Currently near the bottom of the league with their hitting average, the Yankees have made fans take matters into their own hands. But will they succeed?
Baseball Fans Are Skeptical of Ohtani to New York Slogans
At the recent Midsummer Classic, Seattle Mariners fans serenaded Ohtani with “Come to Seattle!” chants when he took the plate. But the three-time All-Star has yet to indicate where he might go next or if he’ll stay in LA.
At the sight of his giant cutout, some thought it would be unlikely he would sign with a New York team.
looks good but unfortunately he's not coming to NY.
