Manager Aaron Boone has opened up about where Volpe’s debut situation lies right now. “Volpe is very much in the running to be on the team on opening day so we got two more weeks to go here. Those conversations will start to happen in earnest he’s played awesome, he’s come in with obviously one of the big stories of this camp, and gone out and delivered and performed and kinda looked like everything we, you know, expect and get excited about. So he’s very much in the running,” he said.

Boone then went on to talk about 20-year-old Jasson Dominguez, the top prospect signed in the 2019-2020 international class. Despite having some struggles in the past, the young outfielder has come a long way in just one year. “He’s looking like a player that’s gonna be a real impact player for us. I don’t know when. Wouldn’t expect it at the start of this season, but he’s showing us why we’re so excited about him this spring. But those are the two guys that we think are gonna be the central figures for us for a long, long time.”
