Aaron Judge has reportedly signed a 9-year $360 million contract with the New York Yankees. And it has been nothing but a relief for the Pinstripes fans. Notably, with the new contract, Judge will be spending the rest of his 30s with the Yankees and will probably retire with the team.

This will clear all the uncertainty regarding the Yankee’s future as their star player is staying. But reports have surfaced stating that another team had offered Aaron Judge a bigger deal. And the Yankees fans are awe of their superstar for staying in the Bronx.

The Padres offered Aaron Judge a 10-year $400 million deal!

If reports are true, then the San Diego Padres offered Aaron Judge a 10-year $400 million contract. In a Tweet, Talkin’ Yanks shared the same. The tweet said, The Padres offered Judge $400 million over 10 years but he took less to stay with the Yankees, per @BNightengale”.

Notably, even though Judge reportedly declined the Padres’ offer, he got almost the same contract with the New York Yankees. Had he signed for the Padres, the reigning AL MVP would have been earning $40 million a year for the next 10 years, the same annual salary that he will be earning at the Yankees.

From the beginning, it sounded like the Yankees were the top option for Judge. Fans have shown positive reactions to Judge signing with the Yankees and turning down the Padres’ offer.

 

Since the contract is almost done, the Yankees fans can breathe a sigh of relief. Furthermore, Judge is coming off his career-best year.

When talking about the Padres, although they missed out on Judge and Trea Turner, the NL side has signed another top AL player in free agency.

The Padres missed out on Judge but snagged Bogaerts

According to reports, the Padres have signed the former Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts on an 11-year deal. In a Tweet, Bob Nightengale confirmed the same. The #Padres strike once again: Xander Bogaerts signs 11-year, $280 million contract,” the tweet said.
