Apart from the NL East, all MLB divisions have found their winners this season. But thanks to the New York Mets and Atlanta Braves’ consistency throughout the season, the National League East is going down the wire.

The Mets have only one game lead over the second-placed division rival, the Atlanta Braves. And since we are already in the last week of the regular season, the upcoming series between the Mets and Braves will probably decide the rightful winner of the NL East. 

And now, the Mets have called their biggest prospect, Francisco Alvarez, ahead of the crucial series against the Braves.

MLB world troll the New York Mets’ top prospect ahead of the crucial series against the Braves

Earlier this week, the New York Mets, announced that they are calling their best prospect, Francisco Alvarez, for the rest of the season. Notably, the 20-year-old Alvarez is the No. 1 prospect in all of baseball. And the Mets are planning the young catcher to play as a DH (designated hitter).

However, as soon as this news broke out, the MLB fans went all out against the Mets and the young prospect. Given the division title is on the line, the Mets are doing everything to have a slight edge over the world champions. But seems like MLB fans are glad about this decision.

Taking to Twitter several MLB fans trolled the young baseball player who is yet to make his big league debut.

One fan even called the Mets so desperate for the NL East. But whoever comes, the Braves will sweep them up. Another fan compared Alvarez to the Mets hitter, Pete Alonso, and said he is bigger than Alonso.

The Mets or the Braves?

As things stand, the Mets have a lead of just one game over the Braves. And whichever team wins the three-game series, is most likely to win the NL East.

Considering the series will take place in Atlanta, the Braves will have the home advantage. But the Mets also have been incredibly great on the road this season.
