Two teams from New York, at two opposite ends of the spectrum, and the disappearance of a New York-based World Series. Yes, that’s where the New York Yankees and New York Mets are currently standing. While the Pinstripes prepare for the American League Division Series, the Mets head back home (not literally, since they were playing at home) after getting knocked out of the MLB.

However, what unfolded is in front of us.
How did fans react to the Mets making history?
But, the New York Mets fans have something to take away from this 2022 season as they made the wrong side of history after losing to the Padres 1-2.

As reported by SportsTalkATL.com, the New York Mets became the “first team to win 100+ games and not reach the division series.” This moves to be a record no one would ever want against their name.
This is how fans reacted to the Mets’ farewell from 2022 – along with a groundbreaking record next to their name:

If he did cheat as annoying and bad as that would be they gave up 6 runs still. On top of that it’s not like they started hitting when got taken out.

I don’t agree with a lot of his takes. That being said, it’s 100% deserved when a Mets parody account is made banking off his popularity.

It’s a long season. The Mets tanked out, kind of like the Dodgers did in 2021.

Landing the plane meant they were about to win the wildcard series.

Mets got a space right now making excuses

not as bad as what happened to my New York Mets! Won over 100 games this season, in first place most of the season, should of won the division & then squander it away at the end to Atlanta Braves & the rest is history. Sorry about your Red Sox but they are in a rebuilding stage.

This is how the National League Division Series is seating:
- San Diego Padres vs Los Angeles Dodgers
- Philadelphia Phillies vs Atlanta Braves
New York Mets and their unfortunate postseason history
The last time the Mets won the World Series was back in 1986. Since then, the Mets have made only seven postseason appearances, out of which, only two have translated into World Series appearances. This year, in 2022, the Mets successfully managed to break their 6-year playoff absence since 2016 and reached the Wild Card round.
This happening occurred after an unfortunate (for the Mets) last-minute turn of events in the National League’s West Division with the Atlanta Braves beating them by a marginal difference and qualifying for the Division Series.
