After the pitch, as Alvarez moved towards the first base, he argued with Ruiz. Though the umpires could handle the situation on the pitch well, but could not stop the benches from engaging. The two dugouts joined the scenes in favor of their players. The game saw a brief halt, after which the game progressed as the Mets claimed a 9-0 win.
