A ray of hope has finally shone in for the MLB franchise New York Mets. Being in fourth position in the NL East, the Mets are not having a good time this season. However, being on the injured list for the second time in his career, Mets slugger Pete Alonso finally has a good update that has the Queens’ fans buzzing with joy. 

On June 7, Alonso got hit by a pitch and suffered a bone bruise with a left wrist sprain. As a result, the athlete was put on the injured list, leaving a significant gap in the Mets’ lineup. And now, with a recent update on Alonso from the Mets’ skipper Buck Showalter has given the fans a glimmer of hope.

After leaving the game because of the injury, Alonso was put on a 10-day injured list. Before the hitter left the plate to recuperate, he had already helped his team by giving them 41 runs and 22 home runs. Certainly, the numbers show how good of a job Alonso was doing before he got injured. And according to the skip, Pete is coming back soon to take over the plate.

This Friday, Showalter revealed that Alonso is not only recovering well but also hitting pretty hard in the batting cage. Thereby, he gave the fans the hope he’ll be back in no time.
