It has been a roller-coaster season for the New York Mets. They were once cruising past other teams in the group but have lost the plot again to stay fourth in the NL East standings. They have lost five of their last six games, which has put them under more pressure. Given the season’s more games, the Mets have brought changes to the squad with a trade of their 2022 signee Eduardo Escobar to the Los Angeles Angels. The Angels will trade two minor-league players for Escobar.
Even though this deal has come up amid Shohei Ohtani signing possibilities for the Mets, it still has failed to get a positive response. The baseball fans and the third baseman’s teammates alike have poured some words on the trade.

This move comes in the second season of Escobar, who joined the Mets in 2022 from the Arizona Diamondbacks. The third baseman had a decent time at the Mets, but a dip in his form was noticed, which might have prompted this move. In the current season, Escobar played 40 games and scored 15 runs with 16 RBIs at an average of 0.236.

It’s a crime that GM’s wanna trade a player DURING a game. Can they not wait till after the game? He can’t even say his proper good-byes.

Doubts still linger over the signing!
@d22fletcher is hitting .383 with an OPS of .901 in AAA. Yet, we traded for a guy hitting .236 (career OBP of .307) who has never had a season average as high as Fletch’s career avg. @Angels management continues to be a 🤡🤡 show. Some things will never change.
