As the MLB enters its wild card round, one team that remains in a perpetual public spotlight is the New York Mets. From seriously competing with the Yankees in the Subway Series, to leading the National League East Division for a significant amount of time, the Mets witnessed an extremely roller-coaster season. Ultimately, their season concluded with the Atlanta Braves snatching the East Division Title, crediting an end-season surge.

While the Mets fans have faced disappointment all through the last six years crediting postseason absence, this year would’ve hurt more than usual. That being said, the Mets entered the wild card round as the strongest team in there. However, their first game against the Padres was anti-climatic, to say the least. And expressions of the Canadian comedian Nathan Fielder explained exactly that.

After yesterday’s shocking and disappointing game, the World Series thought only started to walk further away. However, it’s not over till it’s over, right? Despite a humiliating 1-7 loss against the San Diego Padres at Citi Field, the Mets still have two more matches in the Wild Series round to resurrect themselves. Moreover, playing at Citi Field could be another bonus.

Notably, the last time the Mets made the postseason was back in 2016 when they lost the Wild Card round against the San Francisco Giants 0-3. This happening occurred only one year after the Mets made the World Series for the first time in 15 years. And lost to the Kansas City Royals.
