The Los Angeles Dodgers have always refused to settle in their pursuit of greatness. As the frontrunners in acquiring talented players, whispers of potential moves have been swirling around them yet again, and one such name is the Houston Astros’ Alex Bregman. Although there’s been no direct link between the team and Bregman this offseason, GM Brandon Gomes isn’t ruling out the possibility.

In a recent interview, Brandon Gomes emphasized that the team is always looking for opportunities to elevate its roster. So, does that include the potential addition of the talented third baseman, Alex Bregman? Gomes made it clear that the Los Angeles Dodgers are not closing any doors, noting, “On the other front, look, you never say never and we’ll continue to be opportunistic at looking at places on how to round out the roster. But we feel very happy with what we’ve done to this point.”

The Dodgers have never been shy of making a splash when they see a chance. Even though Bregman may not be on their radar, they remain open to adding him to their already star-studded roster. While adding a player with Alex’s caliber could potentially elevate the Dodgers’ already strong chances of a title next season, it still remains to be seen whether the stars align for both parties to strike a deal. After all, with an already strong lineup with talented Max Muncy already shining for them at third baseman, they don’t necessarily need this move.

What’s ahead for Alex Bregman?

Alex Bregman, one of Major League Baseball’s talented players, is currently testing the free agency waters. However, the Houston Astros are doing everything they can to keep him in the fold. Recent reports suggest that the third baseman was offered a staggering six-year contract worth $156 million by the Houston Astros. However, Alex declined the offer due to the significant pay cut from his previous $28.5 million annual salary to $26 million according to the contract.

Since then, the Astros have been working hard to convince Bregman, but it appears that there are other teams too in the race, including the Chicago Cubs, Boston Red Sox, Detroit Tigers, and even recently the Los Angeles Dodgers, who haven’t completely denied interest in him. Now, it is up to Bregman on whether he is looking for a rebuilding roster with the Cubs, a fresh start with Boston, or a chance to help the Tigers turn the corner toward playoff contention.
