There’s nothing quite like watching a sports game live. It’s easy to convert a non-watcher to a devout fan – just have them witness a live game. The energy of the crowd, the vested interest, rooting for one team to win, the pure adrenaline – it’s exhilarating. It doesn’t matter if the game is happening right in front of someone or they’re watching through a screen – it’s pure fun either way. And the recent March Madness game had even Alex Rodriguez on his feet, cheering for Miami.

A-Rod captured the interest of baseball fans when he made his MLB debut. They followed the ups and downs of his career throughout the twenty-two seasons he played. But baseball is not the only sport Rodriguez has been interested in. Part owner of the NBA team, the Minnesota Timberwolves, A-Rod keeps up with basketball as well. And like the rest of the country, March Madness got to him too.

It was Miami vs Texas, the Hurricanes vs the Longhorns, and Miami’s NCAA team won. It was the kind of game where one couldn’t take their eyes off the screen for a single moment. Roaring back from a 3-point deficit in the second half, the Hurricanes beat Texas 88-81. It was an extra special game because this is the first time the University of Miami is heading to the Final Four.

And of course, A-Rod was all for it. He has a special connection with the place because he grew up there, and was even set to play baseball there at one point in time. So of course he was rooting for his hometown school!
