Having played baseball for over two decades, who would know the game better than Alex Rodriguez? Apart from being an excellent ballplayer, A-Rod was also a keen observer of the game. There have been many great players in baseball, but the way A-Rod understands and analyzes the game, probably no player does.

Although the NBA and the NFL have superiority over MLB when it comes to worldwide popularity, A-Rod would do anything to prove why MLB will always be the toughest sport to play. Dating back to 2018, Alex Rodriguez and the NBA legend Charles Barkley appeared on an SNL sketch, with Keegan Thompson portraying the NFL legend D.C. Timmons.

The three hilariously argued which sport is better between the NBA, NFL, and MLB. Even though it was not a serious debate, A-Rod gave a solid reason to prove his point about why MLB is much tougher.

Alex Rodriguez could not control his laugh during the hilarious SNL sketch

Having said that Alex Rodriguez has played baseball for over two decades, Charles Barkley is no less than the former Yankee. An 11-time All-Star, and the NBA Hall of Fame, Barkley, is an NBA legend. Comedian Keegan Thompson, who portrayed the NFL legend D.C. Timmons, also joined them in the debate.

When the show host asked which sport is tougher, A-Rod, with no hesitations, said baseball. And he defended his argument with the busy schedule of MLB.

“Well, baseball has a grueling schedule. With spring training and postseason, you play up to 200 games in 230 days,” Alex Rodriguez said. But little did A-Rod know that he would get trolled by Barkley.

“Yeah, but you have been half the time on the bench. The NBA is much tougher. We play 82 games (in a season) and you are running 30 minutes or more (per game),” Barkley argued.

Meanwhile, Timmons also joined the debate and took a hilarious dig at the NBA and MLB.

“You want to talk about running! Man, the football field is 100 yards long. That’s 100 feet. And every foot matters, every down (touchdown) matters,” Timmons responded.
