Alex Rodriguez, businessman extraordinaire, doesn’t hold grudges anymore. Arguably one of the greatest in baseball, the former Yankee was famous for being hot-headed during his playing years. But some years into retirement, A-Rod simply takes business decisions now; one of them was gaining part ownership of the NBA team, the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Trouble is part of any businessman’s life as risks sometimes reward or punish them. And A-Rod and co-owner Marc Lore have faced some trouble recently. As it is, the Timberwolves’ last game was a heated match-up with the Los Angeles Lakers. And they faced a staggering loss as the Lakers defeated them 108-102. But A-Rod is not feeling too down and even congratulated the other team.

Alex Rodriguez posted a story to his Instagram that included a picture of him sitting behind LeBron James, who is smiling broadly. One person that doesn’t look so happy is A-Rod himself, who’s making a disappointed face. Despite that, he captioned the story, ?Proud of our effort and heart last night. Congrats to LeBron and the Lakers. Let’s run it back soon.?
It was certainly a wild game, if only because the two sports legends were facing each other. King James has often been called the Alex Rodriguez of basketball. Not because of A-Rod’s history with PED usage, as some might think. It had more to do with the potential these players showed in their respective sports.
James and A-Rod have a rather interesting history
While it’s common to see players in the same sport getting comparisons because of their similar career trajectory, it’s rarer to see it cross-sport. But the former Yankee and the current Lakers player have some commonalities.

The beginning of their careers began similarly. James was a much-touted prospect when he got selected first in the 2003 overall draft. But exactly 10 years before that, Rodriguez was making waves in the baseball world as it predicted his success. He too got selected in the first overall MLB draft in 1993. With exactly a decade between them, they were among the most hyped players in their respective sports.
