Despite the Lakers losing to the Thunders, LeBron James’ 38 points in the game carried him to a total of 38,390 regular season points. As a result, LeBron James overtook Lakers icon Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to become the NBA’s highest all-time points scorer. With this massive feat, the GOAT debate resurfaced.
Ever since the four-time NBA Champion set the record for the most points scored by a player in NBA history, the NBA world has been buzzing. And much like the question of whether the chicken or the egg came first, the age-old debate of who the greatest of all time (GOAT) is between Michael Jordan and LeBron James has been reignited.
The debate, like any other sporting debate, promptly took a hostile turn. And ensuing the hostile turn, San Diego Padres Ace Ryan Weathers stepped in to offer his two cents on the issue.

Padres Ace has his say on the GOAT battle between Michael Jordan and LeBron James
Following the rise of the debate on who’s the real MLB goat, Ryan Weathers reached his Twitter asking all NBA fans to appreciate the greatness of both the players and condemning the perpetual need to draw comparisons.
why does everything have to be debated about Lebron and MJ? can we just not appreciate both of their greatness. people hating on one to gain for the other

Weathers said, “why does everything have to be debated about Lebron and MJ? can we just not appreciate both of their greatness. people hating on one to gain for the other”
King James, while not known for his humble nature, himself put an end to the GOAT debate. After going past Kareem Abdul-Jabbar against the Thunders, LeBron James weighed in on his greatness, and said, “I feel like I’m the best basketball player that ever played the game.”
Ryan Weathers’ tweet found the support of various fans. Some fans even went as far as dubbing him a “better sportsman then lebron and mj.”
This is how fans reacted to Weathers’ tweet:
At least we can agree that ryan weathers is a better sportsman then lebron and mj

Why stop there? Why not assume both cookies and cream vs. cookie dough have tough but fair arguments as the greatest ice cream flavors of all time?? Stones vs. Beatles? People who put down one to augment their argument for the other don't have anything more than feelings invested
