The NBA All-Star Celebrity Game took place on 17th February in Salt Lake City and the players received much love from fans. Stars from the entertainment industry collided with legends from the sports world to bring the audiences a fun-filled time.
The players wore shoes from various NBA and WNBA athlete brands and showed off their skills on the court. For something that has been going on for decades, the game has yet to disappoint. Just as the 2023 game was a success, fans recently looked back on another iconic game – the 1998 NBA All-Star Celebrity Game. And baseball icons from MLB of the late 1990s took the stage in an impressive display of skill as well as the choice of footwear.

Since the Instagram account that posted the photo has the word ‘kicks’ in it, the focus of the post was expectedly on the shoes. WNBA legend Sheryl Swoopes wore her own brand and one of the greatest women’s basketball shoes, the Swoopes Zoom.
And of course, when talking about basketball shows, it would be remiss not to mention Michael Jordan’s iconic AJ13 which, coincidentally, was also worn by many players at the 2023 All-Star, including former Cardinals star Albert Pujols. Former Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Stephon Marbury also made an appearance in 1998 in the form of his shoe brand, Starbury.
