Back in 2021, when Alex Rodriguez joined forces with ex-Walmart CEO Marc Lore, the two moguls ended up making a $250 million down payment to purchase a 20% stake in the Minnesota Timberwolves. Ever since then, the Timberwolves have emerged as a significant underdog in a conference dominated by the likes of the Golden State Warriors, Dallas Mavericks, and LA Lakers. Under the leadership of A-Rod and Lore, the Timberwolves made it to their first opening round since 2017.

This season too, at a gradual speed, the Timberwolves are slowly climbing up the Western Conference ladder by beating some of the big names. Most recently, alongside owner Alex Rodriguez and girlfriend Jaclyn Cordeiro, who loves traveling with the team, the Timberwolves beat Dallas Mavericks 121-124.

Ant-Man gets a special message from Alex Rodriguez

In a narrow victory against the likes of Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic with the Mavericks, the Timberwolves, led by shooting guard Anthony Edwards, emerged strong. Edwards, affectionately known as Ant-Man, received a special mention on A-Rod’s Instagram following his brilliant performance.

Alex Rodriguez uploaded a story on his Instagram with a video of Anthony Edwards after the game. He said, “Big win in big D!!!”

Notably, in the 36 minutes that Edwards played, he scored 32 points with five rebounds and one assist. Most recently, Anthony Edwards made it to his first-ever NBA All-Star team.

The Timberwolves beating the Mavericks came as a surprise. But really not so much.

All through the last month and more, the Wolves have pulled through multiple big names in the Western Conference like the Mavericks, Nuggets, Golden State Warriors, and Grizzlies.
