Alex Rodriguez is many things. After donning the game of baseball for over two decades, the former New York Yankees star is doing some serious business in his post-retirement career.
There have been several excellent players in MLB, including David Ortiz, Derek Jeter, Cal Ripken Jr., etc. And Alex Rodriguez is also a part of that club. But when it comes down to making money, no one from the MLB community is even close to the former New York Yankees slugger.

Thanks to his massive net worth, the former Yankee also co-owns the NBA franchise Minnesota Timberwolves. Not many people are aware but the Timberwolves deal was not easy for the Yankees legend.
Timberwolves legend Kevin Garnett held the ground against Alex Rodriguez and his Timberwolves’ deal
Per an a-year-old report from sportscasting, the Minnesota Timberwolves legend Kevin Garnett was not in favor of Alex Rodriguez becoming a part-owner of the franchise. Because he believed A-Rod wanted to move the Timberwolves from Minnesota to Seattle.
The reports also suggested that Garnett wanted to become a part-owner so he could have his say in the future of the Timberwolves. And given his $200 million net worth, it seemed like Garnett would also join A-Rod and Marc Lore to buy the Timberwolves.
“There’s buzz now that Kevin Garnett… will be heavily involved in the Timberwolves basketball department if he joins franchise investors Alex Rodriguez and Marc Lore if/when they gain full control in 2023,” said the sportscasting report.

“The word is Garnett, the ex-Timberwolf, wants the franchise to remain in Minnesota,” Walters reported for Twin Cities. “But Rodriguez wants to move it to Seattle, where he played for seven seasons.”
In the end, only A-Rod and Marc Lore became a part of the ownership. They bought the franchise for a whopping $1.5 billion in 2021.
