Alex Bregman, the skilled third baseman for the Houston Astros, has always had big dreams. From a young age, Bregman had a passion for sports and a drive to succeed, and his World Series title is proof of that.
One of his dreams was to be an NBA player. Although the Astros slugger never got the chance to play in the NBA, he has been given an opportunity to coach during an All-Star weekend game. This may not have been what he originally planned, but his role as a coach during a memorable weekend is still something to look forward to. And when talking about his experience as an NBA fan, Bregman could not resist and recalled a Kobe Bryant memory.

At 28 years old, Alex Bregman is ready for his next big adventure – being an assistant coach at the NBA All-Star Game in Salt Lake City, Utah, according to usatoday.com. Reflecting on his conversation, Bregman shared, “I initially was going to try and play the game, but we’re not allowed to do that. So I said I’ll coach, I’ll get on the bench and get everybody water while they are on the game and I’ll just go have fun at All-Star weekend.”
Bregman will be a part of the action, as he joins the coaching staff for the NBA Celebrity Game on Friday, February 17th.

He recalled a special Kobe Bryant and Shaq memory as well, “I remember the last All-Star Game I went to was in Phoenix in 2011, watching Kobe Bryant win the MVP award, and Shaq coming out dancing onto the court,” Bregman said with a smile.

In other news, recently retired Albert Pujols steps onto the court to play in the celebrity game. And Bregman is ready to pick up some tips from the MLB legend. Bregman never could have imagined that he would have the opportunity to coach such a great player, but he is eager to make the most of this chance.
What’s next for the Astros slugger?
As Bregman celebrates the NBA All-Star weekend, he has his sights set on the next challenge – spring training with the Houston Astros. The team is determined to defend their World Series title and Bregman is confident that they won’t be dethroned easily.
