Alex Rodriguez has always talked about the two “B’s” that have guided his life. Standing for baseball and business, A-Rod has always been fascinated by these two things. However, it won’t be wrong to say that there’s another “B” that needs to be added here. This one stands for basketball, a sport that is very close to Rodriguez’s heart. So does it surprise anyone that he always shows his love for it wherever he goes?
A-Rod was recently seen attending Bloomberg’s Power Players Conference. Though it was a way for Bloomberg to connect different sports personalities, Rodriguez had other things to do as well. For instance, he shot a live episode of his Bloomberg show “The Deal.” However, the actual interesting part came later on when he bumped into NBA Champion and Olympic gold medalist Stephen Curry. A-Rod immediately posted a picture of the two in his Instagram Stories. But that wasn’t close to the end of the baseball star’s basketball connection.
Later Bloomberg posted an Instagram reel of multiple stars answering some interesting questions. Joined by Curry, WWE star Roman Reigns, among others, Rodriguez gave a slight glimpse of his personal beliefs. So when asked about his favorite investment, the owner of A-Rod Corp had quite a straightforward answer. “The Timberwolves and the Lynx,” Rodriguez said, and once again, the People’s Owner won fans’ hearts.

Despite being attached to a huge ownership fight, Alex Rodriguez remains totally in love with the Minnesota Timberwolves. From turning into a bartender to flying to Paris to wish his team’s star on his birthday, A-Rod has always taken a hands-on approach to his ownership. So it isn’t out of the ordinary that Rodriguez considers T-Wolves his crowning achievement. However, that doesn’t mean that the team is fully his, in fact, there are multiple roadblocks still in place.
Alex Rodriguez’s Timberwolves dreams remain uncertain
It is common knowledge that Rodriguez’s arbitration battle with Glen Taylor will stretch toward the end of 2024. While A-Rod continues to claim that he is the rightful owner, the chances of him actually winning the arbitration are predicted to be slim. However, while that can change anytime, the effects that this elongating battle can have on the Minnesota Timberwolves squad is immense. And that’s something that has worried many experts.

“I have a lot of concerns about the overall state of the Wolves,” said Tim Bontemps in the Hoops Collective podcast. The reason for this worry? The fact that it makes the long-term direction of the team unclear. Since Alex Rodriguez’s entry, the T-Wolves have gone from strength to strength. Multiple top-level signings have led to the team turning into a perennial playoffs presence. But all of that could change quickly if for some reason Rodriguez loses the battle. Simply put, would Taylor continue the current strategy?
That is a tough question; mostly because we have seen how the Timberwolves were struggling before Rodriguez’s entry. Will the team continue its recent surge or will it collapse? What do you think? Let us know in the comments below.
