Julio Rodriguez burst onto the stage with his remarkable debut performance. After a first few weeks of a slow start, he quickly turned things around, ending the season with a batting average of .284, an OBP of .345, and a slugging percentage of .509. He scored 84 RBIs, belted 28 home runs, and drove in 75 runs while also stealing 25 bases. 

J-Rod made history by becoming the sixth player in Mariners’ history to hit 20 home runs and steal 20 bases in a single season, and then the first player to hit 25 home runs and steal 25 bases in their debut season. The Mariners then recognizing his potential signed him to a massive 14-year contract extension of $400 million.
