Following this huge honor, the Yankee legend did an interview with GQ, diving into his career and other topics. Jeter revealed that his top priority during his playing days was to keep distractions to a minimum and focus on winning. Furthermore, he didn’t want his teammates to be distracted, either.
During his interview with GQ, Jeter said, “One thing that during my career, my job, my number one priority was to limit distractions.” He further said, “during the time I was playing, I wanted to be focused. I wanted my teammates to be focused on one thing, and that was winning.” This showed the unshakeable mentality that the legendary shortstop had toward winning.
