The Los Angeles Angels’ Shohei Ohtani has ruled the 2023 MLB season. The skillful player was the center of attraction from the diamond to the off-field conversations. As the MLB neared its trade deadline, he was the primary focus of many after rumors of him moving out of Los Angeles floated. Though it did not happen, and the Ohtani latest episode of cramping brought him under the limelight again. And as it continued to bother the Japanese star, it felt there might be no immediate solution. But, now the situation would improve for the talented player with the latest advice.

Cramps and injuries are part of the game, but they can have long-lasting effects on the player’s fitness. It also affects efficiency, and they saw the same with Ohtani after he suffered multiple cramps. Though now it seems Ohtani has found an answer to his problems, all thanks to the legendary advice from Japan’s Tochigi Golden Braves of Baseball Challenge League’s shortstop, Munenori Kawasaki.

Munenori Kawasaki is one of the legendary players who graced the sport. The former Blue Jays star was instrumental in the diamond and put his name into glory. Though on the road to it, he had common difficulties like cramps, which he overcame with a particular routine. And his fellow Japanese star seems to follow the same trick after his regular conflict with the cramps.

MLB analyst Rob Friedman shared a video of it on Twitter. The caption read, “Shohei taking Munenori Kawasaki’s Legendary Advice to stop his Cramping.”

At the start of the video, Ohtani is seen eating bananas. Incidentally, it synced with his senior Kawasaki’s trick to keep the cramps. In the second half of the video, Kawasaki gave the solution for cramps, “Bananas. Monkeys never cramp because monkeys eat every day bananas.”

Notably, it came after Ohtani could not continue on the mound against the Seattle Mariners after experiencing a cramp in his right middle finger.

Ohtani faced a similar problem a week back, making him look for a solution. And as Ohtani has it, he will look to add more to his season record as the Angels fight for the playoffs.

Ohtani Continues to Push Angels’ Playoff Hopes

Four games behind the playoffs spot, the Angels are well-placed in the fight for the playoffs. Much of it is because of Ohtani’s masterclass, who continues to play as a one-person army. With an average of 0.310, 40 HRs, he is class apart. The same is when he pitched, with 160 strikeouts at an ERA of 3.18.
