The Twins played a thrilling 12-inning game against the Dodgers, keeping the contest tight. But they lost in the 12th inning, in a truly bizarre fashion. With two outs and two runners on base, they intentionally walked Max Muncy to load the bases. Following that, they then walked Trayce Thompson to lose the contest at the bottom of the 12th inning. Talkin’ Baseball shared a video of the walk to lose the game while highlighting the odd way that the Twins lost. Fans have also reacted to the moment and mocked the Minnesota-based MLB team.

In a Tweet, Talkin’ Baseball said, “The Twins intentionally walked Max Muncy to load the bases and proceeded to walk Trayce Thompson to lose the game”. This loss was brought on by the decision to walk Muncy. Twins Manager Rocco Baldelli will definitely reflect on that decision.

This will be a difficult loss for Twins players to recover from, especially considering how close the game was. But the team has done well so far this season and currently tops the AL Central division. This is despite their star player Carlos Correa struggling to find form. But this is not the first extra innings loss that the Minnesota-based team has suffered.

The Twins lost a 10th-inning game earlier in the season

The Twins suffered a 10th-inning game against the Boston Red Sox last month. They held a 4-2 lead in the 10th inning before a series of unfortunate events resulted in a 5-4 loss. The loss included a dropped third strike, eighth-inning madness, and a walk-off line drive that crumbled the Twins’ hopes. It was a truly freaky turn of events that resulted in a Minnesota loss.
