The Boston Red Sox and The New York Yankees rivalry is well known. Even before the time of Derek Jeter, these two teams used to be considered the most fierce rivals. This rivalry is continuing to date, even if both teams are now only shadows of what they used to be. Though the Yankees are struggling this year, they have been giving the Red Sox a hard time in their ongoing series. Surprisingly, this scenario is amusing for a former Red Sox player.
Teams often trade players or let them go during the Free Agency. This is a normal practice in the baseball world. However, what attracted the attention of the players more was the moments between the former Red Sox shortstop and outfielder. Mookie Betts even posted on his Instagram with the caption, “Always good to see my bro @thexman2.”
The image shows the two former Red Sox players laughing and mocking their previous team for their present struggles. Both of them have spent a long time playing with The Boston Red Sox, but later, the team didn’t agree to pay their amount. Eventually, they first traded Betts, and later they let Bogaerts leave during Free Agency. The Instagram post reveals, even after years, these two baseball stars have something in common between them. They didn’t let go of the opportunity to mock their former team when they got united, regardless of rivals.
