A similar situation during the game between the Philadelphia Phillies and the Pittsburgh Pirates. The game initially was a jarring experience for the Phillies fans. The star hitter of the team suffered mishaps, but he instantly changed things with his heart-warming gesture.

The Phillies had already grabbed the series, even before the third game began. With two game wins, they have been leading 2-0 before Thursday’s game. However, things took a different turn when Bryce Harper had a squabble with the umpire. This led to an upsetting ejection, but still, the player showed his care for the young fan, which not only made his day but touched the audience.

Bryce Harper turned the controversial game into a memorable one

Dream-come-true moments are rare. Only some fortunate young fans get the chance to meet their idols and collect a souvenir. Hayden Dorfman can now proudly say he is one of them. While the game was about to be marked as controversial, Bryce Harper giving his signed helmet to the young fan, turned it upside down. The incident began as the player, after an angry outburst with the umpire, got ejected. He threw his helmet on his way to the dugout. The 10-year-old fan managed to collect it somehow, and later he got it signed by the star.

During the game, things took a turn when in the fourth innings the DH of the Phillies neglected the checked swing call on a 3-2 count. It was a call by Angel Hernandez. This situation led to an angry argument between Harper and Hernandez. The 30-year-old right fielder even pointed his finger at the umpire’s face and the fight heated up to an extent where the manager had to interfere to control the situation. The umpire gave the player an early ejection as a result.

As the player was walking out towards the dugout, he threw his batting helmet and the young fan collected it. Soon after that, the security guards called him for the MLB star wanted to sign it. Dorfman later rejoiced and said that this is, “the best baseball game he’s ever been to.” However, the game was not on the Phillies side.

The Phillies had clenched the series but faltered in the last game. Phillies’ Kyle Schwarber had a Home Run, and Trea Turner tried his best. However, the ejection impacted the team’s spirit finally leading to a lose. On the other hand, Pirates’ Jason Delay made a key contribution to their 3-2 win.
