Hector Gomez, an MLB insider, provided a translation of the caption in a tweet, as well as how Baez Sr. passed away. “Baez posted these words on his IG account: “Daddy you left so early with so much to enjoy, to be able to see in person what you never could. I know that you will always be with me and that you will give me the strength that I need because knowing that you are not here hurts me so much. I’m going to continue your legacy and I will fulfill our dream, I promise you Daddy. I love you, rest in peace”.

The St Louis Cardinals prospect might just make his dreams come true

The 19-year-old once wanted to make his parents, especially his father, proud of his career. If his recent performance is anything to go by, Baez might just end up doing that one day. Playing for Class Low-A Palm Beach, the youngster recently hit his second home run of the season after going through a slump. Being in his second year in MiLB, the Cardinals prospect hopes 2023 will be better than 2022. Because not even a week into his debut season, Baez suffered a hand injury that caused him to miss most of the season.
