But while he’s on the path to greatness, Baez recently announced some unfortunate news. The youngster’s dad was no longer with him to witness his journey.

The post came on Father’s Day, which included a picture of Baez crouched on the ground and another where he’s sitting with his father. The young Dominican-American player penned a sincere message to him in Spanish that would make anyone tear up.

Being in his second year in MiLB, the Cardinals prospect hopes 2023 will be better than 2022. Because not even a week into his debut season, Baez suffered a hand injury that caused him to miss most of the season.

Now, he wears a symbol around his neck to never forget those days – a bejeweled bulldog pendant attached to a gold chain. Regarding which, Baez says it’s “just having that dog mentality of not being afraid to go out there.”He’s certainly proving he’s not afraid and can get through anything!
