It’s time to understand what happened in 2021. Bauer’s career took a sharp turn when a sexual assault allegation led to his suspension from MLB. The prosecutors eventually declined to press charges, however, the effects of the accusation lingered. He even offered to play for the league minimum salary.
Bauer has been vocal about his interest in playing the Majors again. He shared, per the Times, “I don’t believe that I was given a lifetime ban. I have served my time. Do I not deserve an opportunity to come back?” He went 10-4 with a 2.76 ERA last season, playing for the BayStars. This is food for thought.
