The highly anticipated 2025 Tokyo Series exhibition game came with a mesmerizing twist. Bound to steal the spotlight—one that brings the J-pop world straight to the pitcher’s mound.

Enter MiSaMo; yes, you read that right. The absolute powerhouses of J-pop—Mina Myoi, Sana Minatozaki, and Momo Hirai—are set to take the mound for the ceremonial first pitch at the Tokyo Dome, right before the Los Angeles Dodgers and Japan’s very own Hanshin Tigers battle. This is a dreamlike crossover for fans of both baseball and J-pop.

And well, everyone is awaiting an Ohtani x MiSaMo moment.

MiSaMo is the Japanese subunit of the global sensation TWICE, as they’ve already proven their legacy in Japan and beyond. The renowned “Haute Couture” Dome Tour drew in a staggering 250,000 attendees across six shows. It was a phenomenal feat, keeping in mind that dome tours in Japan aren’t a cakewalk. A stadium with a 55,000-seat capacity, entirely sold out, is something not everybody can pull off, and MiSaMo made it look easy.

Interestingly, all three MiSaMo members hail from Kansai. What makes this interesting? The Hanshin Tigers, also representing the Kansai region, will be taking on the Dodgers—a beautiful coincidence.
