Major League Baseball is all set to send a few of the baseball stars to South Korea this year. For becoming a part of the Korea Baseball Organization’s 40th-anniversary celebration.

The league has sent its star players every few years to Japan for MLB Japan All-Star Series since 1986. The last time when MLB players went to play in Japan was four years ago in 2018. And in that time, Japan won five out of the six games.

World Series of Major League Baseball will be starting in late October this year and continuing to the first week of November. And then, the players will be going off to South Korea.

For how many games players of Major League Baseball will be going?

The baseball organization of Korea KBO made an announcement on Friday. They will be hosting MLB players for a total of four games. Two of which will be played at Sajik Stadium in the southeastern city of Busan, and the other two will be in Seoul at Gocheok Sky Dome.

Korea Baseball Organization also said that since 1922, this will be the first time MLB all-star players to set foot on Korean soil. These four games are going to be much awaited. After MLB World Series wraps up its final match on November 5.

The accurate schedule and rosters for MLB World Tour: Korea Series will be announced in the coming month, September.

Does MLB have any players from Korea in it?

Major League Baseball has four players in the league who have played or are playing this season. They are the first baseman, Ji-Man Choi of the Tampa Bay Rays, shortstop Ha-Seong Kim of the San Diego Padres, outfielder Rob Refsnyder of the Boston Red Sox, and lefty Hyun-Jin Ryu of the Toronto Blue Jays.

Ryu is currently not playing as he is recovering from a left elbow injury, which required Tommy John Surgery. Whereas Refsnyder was born in South Korea and later got adopted by a California family as an infant. So he’s both Korean and American by all means.
