Aaron Judge took the biggest bet when he declined a long-term contract from the New York Yankees earlier this year’s free agency. At first, when the Yankees slugger rejected the contract, it seemed like he had made a mistake. Notably, the Pinstripes had offered him a seven-year contract worth $213.5 million during the 2022 off-season.
And to refuse an offer as big as this from a top franchise like the New York Yankees, Judge took a bet on himself and said he would rather become a free agent. And guess what? The All-Star outfielder is having his career-bet season this year.

With 60 home runs already smashed from the plate, the Pinstripes outfielder is just two homers sort of breaking the single-season home-run record in the American League. With this, Aaron Judge has only increased his contract value. And given his talent, Judge might not accept any offer less than $400 million for his new contract.
Why does Aaron Judge deserve over $400 million for his new contract?
It is almost impossible for a 30-year-old athlete to get a contract offer worth over $400 million. But Aaron Judge is different. He brings several dimensions to the table. Apart from being an excellent ballplayer, Judge is also a dominant leader in the game.
When talking about his numbers this season, the Yankees outfielder is in a league of his own. Not only he is the favorite to win the American League MVP, but Judge is also leading the race to win the triple crown.
The last time a Yankee won the Triple Crown was Mickey Mantle in the 1956 season. Currently, Judge has an average of .316, 60 home runs, and 128 RBIs. He is leading in every required category to win the Triple Crown.

If things do not go south from here, the Yankees slugger will clinch the coveted Triple Crown this season. And given his numbers, this season, teams like the New York Mets, San Francisco Giants, or even the Boston Red Sox will not mind breaking their bank for a player as good as Aaron Judge.
Judge demanded a $360 million contract from the Yankees!
If reports are true, then Aaron Judge demanded a $36 million a year contract from the Pinstripes during the free agency. Yes! Per CBS Sports, when the Yankees offered a 213.5 million contract, Judge reportedly countered their offer with a 9-10 year contract with $36 million per year.

However, things did not work out, and Judge preferred to go into the free agency. Now, the main question is, will Judge stay in the Bronx? And if not, then which team will he play in the coming years?
