The biggest off-season move is done and dusted. Five teams were in the race, and out of all, the New York Mets won the race to Juan Soto. The 26-year-old will be donning the orange and blue next season. But with that done, the focus is now shifting to the other options in the market, like Teoscar Hernandez. The LA Dodgers star has taken attention quite towards him because of his stellar World Series run. Plus, he is a veteran and has three Silver Slugger awards in his name.

Not to mention, Hernandez has one of the most powerful right-handed bats in the market now. Given that he is a free agent, everyone wants him from the Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees, Texas Rangers, and Baltimore Orioles. However, Mark Feinsand, the senior MLB.com reporter, did mention that he believes the 32-year-old veteran will sign with the Dodgers again. But things look questionable, especially given a rather cryptic Twitter post by Hernandez himself!

Is Teoscar Hernandez hinting at something?

Teoscar Hernandez’s main selling point is his affordability and his consistency. He won’t command a Juan Soto-like contract. But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t bring power to the mound. He still has immense value, and Jim Bowden from the Athletic quotes his contract to be around $75 million. Now the LA Dodgers sure have the money, but they didn’t make a move just yet. And Hernandez’s post might reveal he won’t be donning the Dodger blue again!

Teoscar Hernandez’s profile picture on Twitter was him with the World Series trophy in the classic Dodgers uniform. But now he changed it! Is this a sign? Because the World Series just got over, it hasn’t been a passé thing that he would need to update his old profile picture. He might be hinting to other teams that he is ready for them.

And as far as teams go, it seems like the New York Yankees have some deep interest in him. This is what Chris Cotillo reported, and it makes even more sense now that they have lost Juan Soto. But they aren’t the only team that lost in the Soto battle; even the Boston Red Sox did. And it seems like they too are steering the ship towards the Hernandez’s way.

Is Hernandez heading to the Boston Red Sox?

With the New York Mets signing a massive contract of $765 million with Juan Soto, the rest of the outfield market is now open for business. Mark Feinsand of MLB reported that the Boston Red Sox are interested in the Teoscar Hernandez. Not only that, he specified that they prefer the Los Angeles Dodgers player to Anthony Santander. But both are starkly different players.

Well, Hernandez is 32, coming off a stellar run at the World Series. This season he hit .272 with 33 homers and 99 RBIs, playing both the corner and outfield areas. This is in stark contrast to Santander, who hit .235 and had 44 homers and 102 RBIs for the Baltimore Orioles, where he was the right fielder. One thing they have in common is that they are popular targets during this free agency.

The Boston Red Sox have publicly mentioned that they want to scoot away from their usual ways and spend big. This is why they were in the Juan Soto pursuit, anyway! Team president and CEO Sam Kennedy had said, “Our priority is 90 to 95 wins, and winning the American League East, and winning the division for multiple years… There is an extreme urgency internally to be competing for the American League East Championship and to set ourselves up for a deep postseason run in 2025 without question.” After missing Soto, clinching Hernandez can be their next big goal.

Do you think Teoscar Hernandez will head to the Boston Red Sox? If not, where do you think he will go?
